These are used to help assure the safety and reliability through the detection of any flaws or defects from our equipment without disrupting plant operations. The inspection scopes are driven by routines for purposes of (but not limited to) regulations, extending the life of an asset and most importantly to protect the reputation from failure scenarios.
The ISC is based on the following scopes:
- Plant Inspection Services – carrying out inspection duties using conventional NDE to help manage the safety and integrity of in-service (and ageing) equipment and piping. The inspector shall possess a wide range of basic knowledge of integrity issues related to construction/ fabrication and operations. The inspector performs unsupervised inspections with the aid of a documented inspection work scope and related equipment drawings. The inspector will be able to work with a variety of skilled workers on site and produce concise reports with recommendations wherein final judgment will be given by the Mechanical Engineering (Inspection) team. As a minimum, the Plant Inspector shall have ASNT Level II for PT, MT, RT and UT along with relevant industry experience. Other technical certifications awarded by API, CSWIP or AWS are also acceptable but not mandatory.
- Advanced/ Special NDE applications - this scope relies on technological advancements in inspection which can either supplement or replace conventional NDE techniques from Plant Inspection. Initially, the usage of such are allotted on “special” events such as Turnarounds or as a “one-off” task when dealing with investigations or Fitness for Service (FFS) concerns. With the introduction of MISI (Minimum Intervention Strategy for Inspection), the use of advanced NDE techniques will become more apparent in the later stage of the asset. Examples of Advanced NDE (but not limited to) are:
i. Internal Rotary Inspection System (IRIS) for Heat Exchanger tubes
ii. Remote Field Eddy Current for Heat Exchanger tubes
iii. Hydrotector
iv. Low Frequency, Pulsed-Eddy Current
v. Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL)
vi. Phased Array UT (PAUT)
vii. Time of Flight Diffraction
viii. Digital Radiography
ix. Provision of IRATA Levels 1, 2 and 3 (Rope Access scopes)
Location of Services: Offshore assets (SWP-DCP and CALM buoy) located in Palawan and Onshore assets (MOGP and BSB)
Contract Duration: 60 months
